Ok... so the OP apparently did not tell the whole story.

I believe this is what happened:

Has Command Ships injected, can fly Command Ships. Goes out and gets blown up and podded. His clone is NOT up to date. He lost SP in the Command Ship skill. In order to TRAIN an injected skill back up, ALL the prereq's must be met.

This is something that was discussed, but not at great length. You cannot train an injected skill above the current level, without the prereq's being met. This has never really been an issue until NOW. Where people have injected skills that do not have all the prereq's met.

But the ROOT cause of the problem is flying around without an updated clone.

This is my guess.

If I lose target painter, I can't use a target painter. If you lose command ship, you can't use a command ship. How surprising...
